2004 ended on a
high note with record-breaking sales, listings and dollar volumes
according to figures released by the Calgary Real Estate Board.
Year-to-date residential sales totaled 26,463 (19,297
were single-family;
6,993 were condominiums; and 173 were mobile homes)
which is the
highest number of sales ever recorded for a one year period. This
is an increase of 9.13% over 2003's year end sales of 24,249.
The average
combined residential sale price in December was $233,310
which was an increase from November's $229,114 and up 10.22% over
last December's $211, 659. The average sale price for December:
(single-family homes $258,209; condominiums $172,243; mobile homes
$11,725).
Year-to-date, the
average residential sale price was $222,801 the highest average
price recorded to date; up from last year's $211,265; an increase
of 5.46%
