Combined
residential units sold in August 2002 totaled 2,133
(1,605 single-family; 514 condominium; 14 mobile home) the best
August on record for residential sales. This compares to 2,028 in
August 2001, an increase of 5.2%. Sales in August 2002 were down
slightly from July 2002, when 2,197 units changed hands.
Condominiums
account for about 24% of the market year-to-date, and sales in
this sector are tracking about 32% ahead of 2001.
Single-family unit sales are about 13% ahead of last year's pace.
The average
combined residential sale price in August was $202,423, an
increase of 10.6% over last year's figure of $183,048 and about 3%
above July's $196,472.
The average residential sale price is up
almost 8% over 2001.
